JAM Parking Garage – Lowell, MA:
Work is underway at the JAM Parking Garage in Lowell. The project was awarded recently to W. L. French Excavating Corporation by Consigli Construction. The scope of work includes excavation for new foundations up to fifteen [15] feet deep, design and installation of excavation support systems, installation of site utilities, and site improvements. Precision Environmental Management Corporation will also play a role in this project by managing the disposal of all regulated soils encountered on the site.

August 2006
Mitre Corp. Building “B” Demolition – Bedford, MA:
North American Site Developers [NASDI] has awarded W. L. French Excavating Corporation the sitework contract as part of the demolition of Building “B” at Mitre Corp’s. Bedford campus. The scope of work includes utility demolition, construction of a temporary haul road, and grading the site after the building is demolished to create an open space. W. L. French Excavating Corporation has recently completed work for NASDI at several other sites in the Greater Boston area, including the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham, Danvers State Hospital in Danvers, and Oxford Mills in Lawrence.

Royale Shores Condominiums:
Kelly Construction of Manchester, NH has awarded W. L. French Excavating Corporation the contract for excavation and utilities for the proposed Royale Shores Condominiums in Hampton Beach, NH. The scope of work includes mass excavation for a below grade parking garage, design and installation of excavation support systems, design and installation of a temporary dewatering system, and connection of site utilities.

July 2006
Boston, MA
Chinatown Community Education Center: 

W. L. French Excavating Corporation has been awarded the contract for excavation and utilities for the Chinatown Community Education Center in Boston by A.J. Martini. The project includes removal of existing underground foundations to clear the way for the proposed foundations which will be supported by caissons. Precision Environmental will also play a role in this project by managing the disposal of all regulated soils encountered on the site. A major challenge of the project is moving material and equipment in and out of the site through the very crowded streets of Chinatown.

This project builds upon a lasting relationship with A. J. Martini. Other projects completed for A. J. Martini include The Temple Emunhah in Lexington, MA., and 606 Lincoln Street in Waltham, MA.

July 2006
North Canal Housing Complex - Lowell, MA: 

Work is underway at the North Canal Housing Complex in Lowell, MA. CWC Builders recently awarded W. L. French Excavating Corporation the sitework contract as part of the renovation of the complex. Our work includes demolition and replacement of all existing sidewalks, parking lots, and curbing. All work is taking place around 32 occupied apartment buildings and requires careful coordination of work.

June 23, 2006: 
Bill French, Sr. was selected by Waste Management to participate with twenty other CEO’s from around the United States and Canada in a retreat at the Sonora Resort in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This trip was an experience of a life time visiting the western mountains of British Columbia and some of the most pristine nature and wildlife in the world. This trip included salmon fishing, helicopter tours through the mountains and glaciers, and witnessing Grizzly Bears in their natural habitat.

The weekend was spent in one of the most unspoiled locations in the world. Everyone from the staff at the Sonora Resort, to the other businessmen and woman in attendance, and especially the team from Waste Management as hosts truly made the trip an incredible time

Waste Management’s generosity and genuine care for their customers have once again proved that their team and their organization as a whole are in a class by themselves.

   

May 2006
Clark University Residence Hall – Worcester, MA
Consigli Construction recently awarded W. L. French Excavating Corporation the contract to complete all site demolition, excavation, underground utilities, and site improvements as part of the construction of the new residence hall at Clark University in Worcester. Work was started in mid May and will be completed in the Spring of 2007.

March 2006
On Monday March 17th, 2006 W. L. French Excavating Corporation participated in The Town of Arlington’s Patriots Day Parade.  The Parade was an opportunity to display the equipment with pride, and also an opportunity to show our support and solidarity to our troops overseas. 

 

July 2004
Continuing to b uild on a lasting relationship with Bond Brothers, WLF has recently broken ground on the SHOWA British School in Jamaica Plain.  The work includes excavations of up to thirty [30] feet in depth into the side of an existing hill to make way for the new academic building.  Soil nailing is being used as the temporary earth support system.  The work also includes the construction of MSE (tiebacked) earth slopes, site retaining walls, typical site utilities, and paving.
 

May 17, 2004:
W.L. French has started work on the MVRTA Parking Garage
and Commuter Rail Platform located in Lawrence for the George B.H.
Macomber Co. The work includes site grading, foundation excavation and
backfill, site utilities, lateral support of an existing commuter rail
track bed, and reconstruction of 800 feet of Merrimack Street.

May 12, 2004:
W. L. French was awarded the excavation contract for
Harrison Commons in Boston by R.F. Walsh Co. The work includes
excavation up to 32 feet below grade to accommodate a new three level
below grade parking garage within a permanent steel sheet pile
cofferdam. Precision Environmental also has a significant stake in this
project, handling nearly 50,000 tons of material ranging from
unregulated material to hazardous waste.
